Balancing Work, Friends, Family and More!
Monday, March 31, 2008 2:00Hello everyone,
Sorry I wasn’t able to make a blog update yesterday, I was out with friends all day yesterday from roughly 8 in the morning to almost 10 at night. I have to say I had a lot of fun, but I didn’t do anything work related at all. Which brings me to something I think all web developers have trouble with, weather they are teenagers or adults. That is Balance, no I am not talking about trying to keep a book on your head while you walk.
What I do mean though is the balance of work, friends, home life and anything else that is a priority in your life. I know I personally am guilty of over working a lot. There is a lot of days I stay up for two to four days straight just to launch a new website or project. When I over work I push things like friends aside in till I am done.
I know It sounds bad but it’s regretfully true, as many people say the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem right? While it doesn’t necessarily seem like a “problem” to you, it very well could be.
I know and talk to a lot of web developers and a very large amount of them agree that they neglect to balance work with life. In my next blog entry I will be going over how I am planning on balancing my own life and work.
If you have any suggestions on how to balance my life or anyone who over works’ life than please feel free to comment. I am looking for feedback on this blog I want to know what other developers think.
Looking forward to tomorrows blog post!
P.S if you can balance a book on your head and walk please leave a link to a video in a comment i want to see it.
